UT Overdrive Special Tube Amp diy kit

UralTone Overdrive Special is a version of the legendary Dumble ODS guitar amplifier adapted to fit a Princeton chassis. The power amp section has been scaled slightly smaller than the original, using a pair of 6V6 power tubes that deliver a little over 22 W of output power. The Fender chassis brings this ODS circuit back to its early days, when Dumble built amplifiers into Deluxe Reverb chassis.

The kit includes all necessary components and comprehensive instructions, making the build easy (and fun!). Our technical support is available without limits via email!

Who is this kit suitable for?

Anyone interested in tube amplifier building and great traditional guitar tones. It is important to reserve enough time for concentration and to relax into the process. A cup of coffee or tea helps. The Overdrive Special is rewarding to assemble because there is plenty of working space inside the chassis, although there is slightly more wiring than usual. Despite this, the kit is also well suited for beginner amplifier builders.

How quickly can the Overdrive Special be built?

An experienced builder can assemble the amplifier in a day or two. Hobbyists may need a bit more time.

What kind of tools do you need for assembling this kit?

Basic tools will get you far, but especially beginners should invest in decent-quality tools.

Especially the soldering station and solder wire need to be good enough to ensure proper solder joints. Always buy your soldering station from a proper electronics store that can help you choose the right one for this kind of work.

A kit assembled according to the instructions represents the finest boutique clones and cannot be compared to mass-produced reissue versions, which neither sound nor structurally resemble the original masterpieces of tube amplifier craftsmanship.
