UT Vibro Champ with Reverb v1.1 Amplifier Kit

The smallest model in the Blackface series, the Vibro Champ with Reverb offers the same features as the Princeton in a smaller size and with lower power. Version 1.1 includes a choke, making the amplifier hum-free.

The single-ended 6V6 power amp delivers approximately 5 W of output power, which is more than enough for home playing. Like all Blackface Fenders, the Vibro Champ is relatively easy to build thanks to its spacious chassis. The kit is therefore well suited for both experienced and beginner amp builders.

The kit can be built either with the Reverb circuit or without it, in which case the circuit corresponds to the original AA764 design.

Who is this kit suitable for?

Anyone interested in tube amplifier building and great traditional guitar tones. It is important to reserve enough time for concentration and to relax into the process. A cup of coffee or tea helps. The Vibro Champ is rewarding to assemble because there is plenty of working space inside the chassis, although there is slightly more wiring than usual. Despite this, the kit is also well suited for beginner amplifier builders.

How quickly can the Vibro Champ with Reverb be built?

An experienced builder can assemble the amplifier in a day. Hobbyists may need a bit more time.

What kind of tools do you need for assembling this kit?

Basic tools will get you far, but especially beginners should invest in decent-quality tools.

Especially the soldering station and solder wire need to be good enough to ensure proper solder joints. Always buy your soldering station from a proper electronics store that can help you choose the right one for this kind of work.
