Otsola Sustainer - Fuzz pedal by J.Paasonen

Sustainer is based on V1 Triangle Big Muff. I just love that smooth singing sustained
guitar sound that can be heard on early Santana and Ernie Isley records. My adventure with Fuzz Face style circuits was close to its end so this kind of a sound leaded me to new dimensions and also back to building pedals with my own hands.
After few prototypes I chose quite mild gained BC209’s for the task. Most of them measured too high gains and hiss for my taste so only I tried to find something with Hfe’s like 200-250. I also took my time to the design this pedal to look like 70’s US made muscle car. Also wiring and other components are “period correct” with every detail. This is my Favoirite Muff..build and tuned the best way I can. It can deliver a wide spectrum of sounds - from creamy boost to forever sustaining Fuzz.
