UralTone Easy 8-8 Overdrive pedal kit
UralTone EASY 8-8 "kiljuputki" is an evolutionary version of our popular 8-8 Overdrive kit. In the Easy series, all parts are soldered onto the same circuit board which significantly eases the construction of the effect and allows for testing and use before enclosing in a casing.
In addition to the original circuit, the Easy version includes an added "style" switch, which allows for an alternative connection alongside the original diode clipper, enabling a more versatile distortion world.
The UralTone EASY 8-8 "kiljuputki" is our faithful version of the original TS-808 pedal. The kit includes the 4558 dual operation amplifier and Japanese transistors used in the original pedal. The op-amp is mounted on a socket, allowing the user to try different eight-pin dual op-amps to find those subtle differences that make our lives great. The effect is assembled in the familiar UralTone 1590B enclosure like other UralTone effects.

What does the kit include?
The kit includes all the necessary parts to assemble a working pedal. The enclosure is optional (you can also build it into a drilled enclosure, but note that the power connector needs a square hole and the foot switch a 12mm one. Potentiometer knobs are sold separately, as tastes vary. Knobs that fit 1/4" / 6.3mm shafts with screw mounting are available here:
How long does it take to assemble the kit?
An experienced builder will assemble the kit in 1-2 hours, while it may take a bit longer for beginners.
Who is this kit suitable for?
For everyone who appreciates good guitar sounds and enjoys doing things with their hands. Also for those who want the quality of boutique pedals, but whose budget does not stretch to a high-end boutique category. In boutique pedals, you pay for the design, marketing (brand), assembly (if made in Western countries), etc. With our kits, many of these costs are eliminated.
The pedal-building kits are also suitable for complete beginners. There are no high voltages involved, and assembly is easy and fun. A cup of coffee or tea and a little concentration (and of course a few tools) are enough.
What tools do I need to assemble this kit?
Basic tools are sufficient, but especially for beginners, it's wise to invest in reasonable quality. Specifically, the soldering iron and solder must be good enough to ensure good solder joints. We have put together a tool set for beginners that makes assembly easy and will go a long way in this hobby. You can choose the desired tools from the package:
Beyond that, all you really need are screwdrivers.
If you are unsure whether your current (perhaps inherited from your grandfather) soldering station is adequate, you can send us a message and we'll see if it's enough to get started!
What value do you get for your money?
A pedal carefully assembled from our kits matches the quality of the most expensive boutique pedals. The parts are top-notch and the devices are carefully designed. The price also includes unlimited technical support either via email or through our support site. Our customers are never left alone!
