5763 NOS output tube (RCA tai Sylvania) - tested and matched

5763 output pentode is originally made for VHF radio usage, but we have learned in our well covering tests it works extremely well on guitar and hi-fi amplifiers. On guitar amplifiers, where the output is driven slightly harder, sound is closer to EL84, so it has pleasant bite of highs and brilliance.

We have tested these with Princeton and 5E3 circuits and it works well. On 5E3 the sound goes towards British style, distortion is tight and has more bite.

On Priceton the change is less, but there's still a difference. In some cases the sound is better than it's with 6V6.

Note: The pinout is different than EL84 and 6V6 so it's not a drop in replacement. Modification on amplifier or adapter is always needed.

RCA and Sylvania has made the best tubes during the time. Similar quality NOS EL84 tubes have asking price of 100-200€ and NOS 6V6 tubes 60-100€. By utilizing less used tubes, it's possible to enjoy the quality of NOS tubes with small investment.
